                         Microgen plc (the 'Company')

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange plc and the UK Listing
 Authority for 10,690 Ordinary shares of 5p each ('shares') to be admitted to
the Official List. It is expected that admission to admit the new shares will
be granted on 20 April 2001 and that dealings will commence on 23 April 2001.

These shares are being issued as deferred consideration relating to the
Company's acquisition of Kaisha Technology Limited acquired on 23 April 1999.

These shares will rank pari passu with the existing issued Ordinary shares.
