                        DOCUMENT RE GRANT OF SHARE OPTIONS


The board of Anglo-Eastern Plantations Plc has approved the grant of options
over 42,800 ordinary shares to employees at 108.5p, exercisable between 21 May
2006 and 20 May 2013.


This brings the total number of shares over which options are held to 666,350
(1.69% of current issued share capital).
