Anglo Asian Mining plc

British Ambassador to Azerbaijan visits Gedabek

New Presentation on Company web-site

Anglo Asian Mining plc ("Anglo Asian" or "the Company"), the AIM listed gold, copper and silver producer focused in Azerbaijan, is pleased to announce the recent visit by representatives of the British Embassy in Azerbaijan to its Gedabek gold, copper and silver mine. A presentation was made to the British Ambassador, Dr Carole Crofts and the Head of the Department for International Trade, Mr Steven Smith. The presentation can be found on the Company's website at the following link http://www.angloasianmining.com/investors/.

Anglo Asian Mining is the largest mining investor in Azerbaijan, the second largest British investor in Azerbaijan (after British Petroleum) and the only London stock exchange listed business which operates exclusively in Azerbaijan. During the visit, ongoing and future business relations between British companies and Azerbaijan International Mining Company (AIMC), the wholly owned subsidiary of Anglo Asian Mining, which operates the mining and processing facilities in Azerbaijan were discussed.

Following the presentation to the representatives of the British Embassy in Azerbaijan which included presenting the many corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects in the local community and contribution of the Company to the Azerbaijan economy, the delegation was given a tour of the Gedabek contract area mines and processing facilities. This included a visit to the Company's newly opened Ugur Mine which has already had a positive impact on Anglo Asian's gold production since mining commenced in September 2017.

Anglo Asian CEO Reza Vaziri commented: "It was a great pleasure to host the British Ambassador and her colleagues at the Gedabek mine site. We look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with the British Embassy with a view to further contributing to the ongoing mutual benefit of the association between Britain and Azerbaijan."

Notes:

Anglo Asian Mining plc (AIM:AAZ) is a gold, copper and silver producer in Central Asia with a broad portfolio of production and exploration assets in Azerbaijan.  The Company has a 1,962 square kilometre portfolio, assembled from analysis of historic Soviet geological data and held under a Production Sharing Agreement modelled on the Azeri oil industry.

The Company developed Azerbaijan's first operating gold/copper/silver mine, Gedabek, which commenced gold production in May 2009.  Gedabek is an open cast mine with a series of interconnected pits. The Company also operates the high grade Gadir underground mine which is co-located at the Gedabek site. The Company has a second underground mine, Gosha, which is 50 kilometres from Gedabek. Ore mined at Gosha is processed at Anglo Asian's Gedabek plant. The Company has also started production in September 2017 from its Ugur open pit mine, a recently discovered gold ore deposit at Gedabek.

Gold production for the year ended 31 December 2016 from Gedabek totalled 65,394 ounces with 1,941 tonnes of copper also produced.  Gedabek is a polymetallic deposit and its ore has a high copper content, and as a result the Company produces copper concentrate from its Sulphidisation, Acidification, Recycling, and Thickening (SART) plant. Anglo Asian also produces a copper and precious metal concentrate from its flotation plant, which is processing tailings from the agitation leach plant.

Anglo Asian is also actively seeking to exploit its first mover advantage in Azerbaijan to identify additional projects, as well as looking for other properties in order to fulfil its expansion ambitions and become a mid-tier gold and copper metal production company.
