Please note, on 7 August 2003 the Board of Anglo American plc (the "Company")
will meet to consider the interim results of the Company for the six months
ended 30 June 2003 including considering the declaration of an interim dividend.
An announcement will be issued at the opening of business on Friday, 8 August
