Please note, on Tuesday, 24 February 2004 the Board of Anglo American plc (the
"Company") will meet to consider the preliminary results of the Company for the
year ended 31 December 2003 and the recommendation of a final dividend. An
announcement will be issued at the opening of business on Wednesday, 25 February
