Please note that we were advised on 4 September 2001 that pursuant to the
provisions of section 324(2) of the Companies Act 1985 Mr J Ogilvie Thompson
has acquired a non-beneficial interest in 23,972 ordinary shares of US$0.50
each in the Company and 239 ordinary shares of Rand0.50 each in AngloGold
Limited, as a result of him being appointed a Trustee of his parents' Will
Trusts.
