PDMR's Interests

The Company announces that Mr J N Wallington, a Person Discharging Managerial
Responsibility ("PDMR") of the Company, sold 2,000 Anglo American plc Ordinary
shares of US$0.54945 each (the "Shares") at a price of ZAR484.15 on Monday 25
February 2008.

Accordingly, Mr Wallington's beneficial interest in Shares has decreased by
2,000.

The notification of these transactions is to satisfy the Company's obligations
under the Companies Act and the Financial Services Authority Disclosure and
Transparency Rules.
