                       Anglo American plc (the "Company")

Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange Plc for a total of 47,029,414 Ordinary shares of US$0.50 each
(the "Shares") to be block listed.



These Shares are being reserved under a block listing and will be allotted to
satisfy conversion of the outstanding 3.375% Convertible Bonds 2007. When issued
these Shares will rank pari passu with the existing Shares.
