                         Board Appointment
 
Anglian Group PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr
John Dale as a non-executive director.
 
Mr Dale, aged 60, was a member of the global board of Mars
Incorporated.  He held a number of senior executive positions at
the company, which he joined in 1976, and was also managing
director of both Pedigree Petfoods and Masterfoods UK, and chief
executive of Thomas's Europe and Masterfoods Dublin.
 
 
Commenting on the appointment, David Perry, Chairman of Anglian
said:
 
'We are delighted to have attracted a senior executive of John
Dale's calibre to Anglian.  I am sure that he will make a major
contribution, particularly in the area of marketing, where he has
over 20 years experience with a major global player.'
