Annual Report, Notice of Annual General Meeting, Admission Document Disclosure

 

Angling Direct plc (AIM: ANG), the leading omni-channel specialist fishing tackle and equipment retailer, announces that the Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 January 2022 has been distributed to shareholders together with the Notice of Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting ("AGM" or "Meeting") will be held at the Head Office of the Company, at Unit 2D Wendover Road, Rackheath Industrial Estate, Norwich, Norfolk, NR13 6LH on 15 June 2022 at 10.00 a.m.

The results of voting will be announced following the conclusion of the Meeting and will also be available on the Group's website.

 

David Davies' Interests in the Company

 

The Company's Admission Document published in July 2017 disclosed David Davies (Non-Executive Director of the Company) and his immediate family as being interested in 15,625 Ordinary Shares. These shares were held in a family trust controlled by a close relative of Mr Davies but not one of his 'persons closely associated' ('PCAs', as defined under the Market Abuse Regulation). These shares have now been transferred out of the family trust to certain of the underlying beneficiaries, none of whom are PCAs of Mr Davies. As at 6 June 2022, Mr Davies does not have an interest in the capital of the Company.

The Company sells fishing tackle products and related equipment through its network of retail stores, located strategically throughout the UK as well as through its leading digital platform (   www.anglingdirect.co.uk    .de, .fr and .nl) and other third-party websites.

From 1986 to 2002, the Company's founders acquired interests in a number of small independent fishing tackle shops in Norfolk and, in 2002, they acquired a significant premise in Norwich, which was branded Angling Direct. Since 2002, the Company has continued to acquire or open new stores, taking the total number up to 42 retail stores. In 2015, the Company opened a 2,800 sq. metres central distribution centre in Rackheath, Norfolk, where the Company's head office is also located. In January 2022 Angling Direct acquired an additional 3,900 sq. metres distribution centre in Venlo, Netherlands to service its established, and rapidly growing, presence in Europe with native language websites set up in key regions to address demand.
