                 PRESIDENTIAL RATIFICATION OF EGYPTIAN LICENCE


Aminex PLC, the oil and gas company listed in London and Dublin, is pleased to
announce that President Mubarak has now formally ratified the award of an oil
concession covering Block 2 in the onshore West Esh El Mellaha area of Egypt,
near the Red Sea coast.  The licence has been awarded to Aminex's joint venture
company, Aminex Petroleum Egypt Limited. The provisional award of this licence
was announced on 15 November 2005, and the relevant Concession Agreement will be
executed shortly. Exploration activities are planned to commence as soon as
practicable.
