Alumasc, the specialist engineering and building products group, announces
that on  3 November 2000 it purchased, for cancellation, 325,000 (approximately
0.88%)of its ordinary shares at a price of 110p per ordinary share, leaving
36,557,787 ordinary shares outstanding.
