Alkane Energy plc has been notified that Energy (CG) Limited has today sold
3,380,200 0.5p ordinary shares at a price of 90p per share. These shares were
placed by SG Securities (London) Ltd with new and existing institutional
investors. Following this sale, Energy (CG) Limited  is now interested in
7,158,400 shares (approximately 8.01% of the issued share capital).
