The Board of Close Brothers Venture Capital Trust PLC announces that the
unaudited net asset value of the Company at 31 December 2005 amounted to
approximately 114.4 pence per share, after accruing for the first interim
dividend of 4.5 pence per share (paid on 20 January 2006).
