Close Technology & General VCT PLC announces that on 27 September 2006 it
purchased, to be held in treasury, 56,611 Ordinary Shares (representing 0.4% of
the Ordinary Share capital) at a price of 100p per Ordinary Share.

Following the purchase of the 56,611 Ordinary Shares, the total number of
treasury shares held by the Company will be 56,111 Ordinary Shares and no C
Shares. The issued share capital of the Company, less the total number of shares
held in treasury, will be 13,534,400 Ordinary Shares and 35,479,122 C Shares.
