                       CLOSE TECHNOLOGY & GENERAL VCT PLC


The Board of Close Technology & General VCT PLC announces that as at 31 March
2006 the unaudited net asset value of the Ordinary shares was approximately
123.7 pence per share, before accruing for the first interim dividend of 4 pence
per share (which will be paid on 26 May 2006). The unaudited net asset value of
the C shares was approximately 93.9 pence per share.
