             Issue of further new ordinary shares of 50 pence each

                     of Close Technology & General VCT PLC




The board is pleased to announce that an allotment of 23,300 ordinary shares in
the Company at a price of 107 pence per share, has taken place today.

Dealings in the 23,300 ordinary shares, which will rank pari passu with the
existing issued share capital, including the right to receive the final dividend
for the year to 31 December 2001, are expected to commence on 7 March 2002.
