Offer for subscription of up to 1.4 million new ordinary shares of 50 pence each

   of Close Technology & General VCT PLC ('Close Technology & General VCT')

   
The board is pleased to announce that an allotment of 15,000 shares in respect
of the Offer has taken place today, taking the aggregate of applications and
allotments up to 126,014 Shares.

Dealings in the 15,000 Shares, which will rank pari passu with the existing
issued share capital, will commence on 1 November 2001.

The Offer will remain open until 10.00 a.m. on 2 November 2001.
