                       CLOSE BROTHERS DEVELOPMENT VCT PLC





Close Brothers Development VCT PLC announces that on 26 October 2006 it
purchased, to be held in treasury, 45,883 Ordinary Shares (representing 0.3% of
the Ordinary Share capital) at a price of 87p per Ordinary Share.



Following the purchase of the 45,883 Ordinary Shares, the total number of
treasury shares held by the Company will be 206,400 Ordinary Shares and 121,715
C Shares. The issued share capital of the Company, less the total number of
shares held in treasury, will be 12,839,267 Ordinary Shares and 17,998,792 C
Shares.
