                       CLOSE BROTHERS DEVELOPMENT VCT PLC


The Board of Close Brothers Development VCT PLC would like to announce the
extension of the close period of the Company pending the sale of an investment
which could potentially increase the net asset value of the company by up to 5
pence per share. This will mean that, during this period, the Company will not
be able to buy back its own shares.

A further announcement will be made by not later than 30 April 2008.
