At the request of Air China Limited (the Company), trading on the Hong Kong
Stock exchange in its H shares has been suspended with effect from 12:01 p.m.
(Hong Kong time) today (8/8/2005) pending the release of an announcement
regarding a major transaction.  Trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the
Company's H Shares is expected to recommence following the release of such
announcement regarding a major transaction.
