INFORMATION REGARDING THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. JOHN RICHARDS AS CHAIRMAN OF THE
AUDIT & MANAGEMENT ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE

On  21 July 2004, Mr. Alastair Dempster resigned as a Member and Chairman  of
the  Audit  & Management Engagement Committee of Aberforth Geared  Capital  &
Income  Trust  plc.  Mr. Dempster continues as a Non-Executive  Director  and
Chairman of the Board.

The  Audit  & Management Engagement Committee appointed Mr. John Richards  as
the Chairman of the Audit & Management Engagement Committee.
