Director Resignation

Sterling (AIM: SEY), the independent oil and gas exploration and production company with interests in the Middle East and Africa, today announces that Jonathan Cooper, Financial Director and Company Secretary, has tendered his resignation.

Jonathan has tendered his resignation in order that he can pursue other opportunities. He is working his six month notice period during which time the Company will seek to appoint a successor.

Angus MacAskill, Sterling's Chief Executive said:

"On behalf of the Board and Shareholders, I would like to thank Jonathan for his contribution during his time with Sterling and wish him well for the future."
