RESULT OF RIGHTS ISSUE


The Rights Issue of up to 31,848,144 new ordinary
shares at 22p per share closed on 6th January 2000.
Valid applications were received for 22,906,408
shares, representing 72 per cent. of the shares on
offer.  The balance are to be taken up by sub-
underwriters.
