Holding in Company

The Company received notification today that, following the purchase of
1,000,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the capital of the Company ('Ordinary
Shares') on 4 October 2001 Finsbury Life Sciences Investment Trust PLC holds
3,243,685 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 3.5 per cent. of the
Company's issued share capital.
