The Company received notification on 7 July 2001 that, following the sale of
1,173,826 ordinary shares of 10p each in the capital of the Company ('Ordinary
Shares'), Royal London Asset Management holds 3,966,210 Ordinary Shares in its
Royal London Long Term Fund representing 4.24 per cent. of the Company's
issued share capital.


This shareholding is registered in the name of Chase Nominees Limited.
