Dawnay, Day Carpathian PLC were advised on 24 May 2006 that, following recent
acquisitions, as at 16 May 2006 Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited
('CSSEL') have an interest in 8,900,000 shares.


CSSEL is interested in 1,000,000 of these shares under s208 (5) of the act by
virtue of the right to redelivery of equivalent securities under stock lending
arrangements.


CSSEL now holds a total interest of 8,900,000 shares representing approximately
6.12% of the issued share capital of the Company.
