Actif Group PLC 5 October 2001 Actif Group plc ('Actif Group') Actif Group announces amendments to ELLE Licence Actif Group announces strategic amendments to its licence agreement with Hachette Filipacchi Medias S.A. ('HFM') for the ELLE brand name. This agreement will benefit both parties and forms part of Actif Group's ongoing strategy to focus on the key profit drivers of the business. Under the new agreement retail licensing rights will be extended by two years from the previous expiry date of 31 December 2008 to 31 December 2010. Actif Group will now be the exclusive retail partner of HFM for the ELLE brand in the UK and Ireland. As part of the change Actif Group has agreed to relinquish certain non-core product categories and territories on a phased basis, and retail rights for the rest of Europe. The annual sales value of products and territories relinquished currently accounts for less than 7% of Actif Group's sales, but requires a disproportionate level of investment in the design and sourcing processes. It is expected that the realignment will allow Actif Group to cut its overhead base and concentrate its resources and design skills on fewer products and territories, thus improving the focus and fashionability of the product in its core markets.
