Norwegian Agency Agreement

Accsys Technologies PLC 11 March 2008 11th March 2008 AIM: AXS NYSE Euronext Amsterdam: AXS Accsys' Titan Wood Subsidiary Signs Norwegian Agency Agreement Accsys Technologies PLC ('Accsys' or 'the Company') announces that its 100% owned subsidiary, Titan Wood Limited ('Titan Wood'), has signed an agency agreement with OggeTre A/S ('OggeTre'). OggeTre will be the sole agent for the promotion and sale of the Accoya(R) wood in Norway. OggeTre director, Robert Braten, said, 'We have established a new company specifically to market Accoya(R) wood and to manufacture Accoya(R) wood joinery components. Having conducted our own tests on Accoya(R) wood, we are satisfied that it answers the demand for a durable, dimensionally stable wood for doors in coastal areas of Norway where humidity causes swelling in winter. We also expect the added benefit of increased coating life on windows and cladding to offer a strong competitive advantage in this market. We are delighted to have secured this agreement with Titan Wood.' Titan Wood's European Business Development Manager, Justin Peckham, added, ' Early on in our discussions we established that there is good potential for Accoya(R) wood in Norway. With the directors of OggeTre also being directors of Vatnestrom Trevarefabrikk (www.vatnestrom-trevare.no), manufacturers of windows and doors, there is an excellent synergy and a wealth of experience within the company. It is exciting to see Accoya(R) wood being made available in Norway.' OggeTre will be supplied from Titan Wood's Accoya(R) wood production facility in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Vatnestrom Trevarefabrikk (www.vatnestrom-trevare.no) is a leading Norwegian door and window manufacturer based in Vatnestrom. Titan Wood Limited (www.titanwood.com) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Accsys Technologies PLC (www.accsysplc.com) group of companies. Accsys Technologies PLC is listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM market and on Euronext Amsterdam by NYSE Euronext, under the symbols 'AXS'. Accoya(R) wood (www.accoya.info) is produced using a patented process that effectively converts sustainably grown softwoods and non-durable hardwoods into what is best described as a 'new wood species' via acetylation. Distinguished by its durability, dimensional stability and, perhaps most importantly of all, its reliability (in terms of consistency of both supply and quality), Accoya(R) wood is particularly suited to exterior applications where performance and appearance are valued. Unlike most tropical and European hardwoods, its colour does not degrade when exposed to ultraviolet light. Moreover, the Accoya(R) wood production process does not compromise the wood's strength or machinability. The combination of UV resistance, dimensional stability, durability and retained strength means that Accoya(R) wood offers a wealth of new opportunities to architects, designers and specifiers. For marine uses where weight is also important, Accoya(R) wood for the first time provides boat builders with a wood that is strong, lightweight, durable and which retains its natural beauty for far longer. Wood Acetylation is a process, which increases the amount of 'acetyl' molecules in wood, thereby changing its physical properties. The process protects wood from rot by making it 'inedible' to most micro-organisms and insects, without - unlike conventional treatments - making it toxic. It also greatly reduces the wood's tendency to swell and shrink, making it less prone to cracking and ensuring that when painted it requires dramatically reduced maintenance.
