                      EDINBURGH SMALL COMPANIES TRUST PLC



On 25 May 2007, Edinburgh Small Companies Trust PLC bought back 42,000 of its
ordinary 25 pence shares for cancellation at an average price of 132.5 pence per
share.  Following the buy back, there are 32,944,790 ordinary 25 pence shares
remaining in issue.  The share buy-back will be financed out of the capital
reserve.
