SALE OF TREASURY SHARES

On 20 September 2010, Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC sold out of treasury 3,117,342 Ordinary shares at an average price of 170.75 pence per share.

Following the transaction, the Company holds no Ordinary shares in treasury and its Ordinary share capital comprises of 63,722,556 Ordinary shares with voting rights.
