SALE OF TREASURY SHARES

On 31 January 2011, Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC sold out of treasury 512,076 Ordinary shares at an average price of 209.00 pence per share.

Following the transaction, the Company holds no Ordinary shares in treasury and the total number of Ordinary Shares in issue is 63,722,556 with each Ordinary share holding one voting right.  Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 63,722,556 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
