Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC ("the Company")

Issue of Equity

The Company announces that on 19 May 2011, 75,000 new Ordinary shares were issued for cash at a price of 234.00 pence per Ordinary share under its Ordinary share block listing facility. 

Following this issue of shares, the total number of Ordinary Shares in issue is 64,347,556 with each Ordinary share holding one voting right.  Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 64,347,556 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

Under the shareholder authority approved at the AGM on 12 October 2010, in relation to the disapplication of pre-emption rights when allotting Ordinary shares, the Company may issue up to an additional 4,863,445 Ordinary shares for cash.
