Clarification re Block listing application

Further to the announcement on 23 December 2013 advising that Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc (the "Company") has made an application to the UK Listing Authority for a block listing of 3,370,000 ordinary shares of 25 pence each, the Company wishes to clarify that the block listing will solely be used to issue new shares to satisfy demand that cannot be satisfied in the secondary market.
