Appointment of non-executive Director

The Board of Aberdeen Smaller Companies High Income Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Lister as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 March 2012.

Robert Lister is currently a non-executive director of Investec Wealth and Investment, having joined the board of Rensburg Sheppards PLC in 2008.  He began his career at Barclays de Zoete Wedd in 1983 in equity research and he became head of European equities.  In 1998 he joined Dresdner Kleinwort and ran equity research and sales before becoming joint-head of equities.

Under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) Mr Lister is a director of Rensburg Sheppards PLC which was delisted in 2010.  There are no disclosures required under paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) to (6) of the Financial Services Authority Listing Rules.
