REPURCHASE OF SHARES


On 26 September 2002, Standard Life European Private Equity Trust PLC bought
back 225,000 of its own ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 82p per
share.  Following the buy-back, there are 159,150,000 ordinary shares of 0.2p
each in issue.
