We wish to inform you that on Thursday, 5 October 2000 we were notified by the
Co-operative Insurance Society Limited that, at close of business on 5 October
2000,  its  total notifiable interest in the ordinary shares of  this  Company
stands  at  4,450,000 ordinary shares representing 8.36% of the  issued  share
capital.

Shares are held as follows:

Co-operative Insurance Society Limited       1,950,000 Shares    3.66%

CIS Pension Scheme Nominee Limited           2,500,000 Shares    4.70%

The  decrease in the percentage holding was as a result of a stock loan  on  5
October 2000.
