C share calculation and conversion dates

Aberdeen Latin American Income Fund Limited (the "Company") - C share conversion

Pursuant to the prospectus issued by the Company on 20 January 2012 setting out the terms of a placing and offer for subscription of C shares, the Directors have received notification from Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited that in excess of 80% of the assets attributable to the C share pool have been invested in accordance with the Company's investment policy.

Accordingly, it is appropriate for the Directors to determine the Calculation Date and Conversion Date for the purposes of conversion of C shares to Ordinary shares.  After due consideration, it is determined that the Calculation Date be 29 February 2012 and that the Conversion Date be 11 April 2012.

The expected timetable for Conversion is, therefore, as follows:

Calculation Date	29 February 2012
Conversion Ratio announced	By 14 March 2012
Record date for Conversion and C Share register closes	10 April 2012
Conversion Date and dealings in new Ordinary shares commence	11 April 2012
Crediting of CREST accounts with new Ordinary shares issued in uncertificated form	11 April 2012
Share certificates in respect of new Ordinary shares issued in certificated form	Week commencing 16 April 2012

Further details regarding the Conversion Ratio and the Conversion process are set out in the Company's prospectus dated 20 January 2012 (terms defined in that prospectus have the same meanings when used in this announcement).
