PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES
Govett Asian Recovery Trust PLC announces that it purchased for cancellation
350,000 ordinary shares at 150 pence per share on 25 May 2000. This brings the
total ordinary shares purchased to date to 900,000. The number of shares
outstanding is now 36,422,077.
