                        RESULT OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING


Standard Life Equity Income Trust PLC (the 'Company') hereby gives notification
that, at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held earlier today, 20
December 2006, all the resolutions as set out in full in the Notice of Meeting
contained in the Annual Report, which was sent to shareholders on 27 November
2006, were duly passed.
