Appointment of Non-Executive Director

abrdn Equity Income Trust plc ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Timberlake as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Mr Timberlake will also join the Company's Audit and Remuneration and Management Engagement Committees.

Mr Timberlake has over thirty years' experience in the asset management industry as a Portfolio Manager, he was with HSBC Global Asset Management between 2005 and 2020, initially as Global Head of Emerging Markets Equities and then Head of Equities. Previously he was a Director of F&C Investment Management and has spent the last 30 years investing in equities. He is a partner in Panorama Property Investments LLP and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of the UK.

Mr Timberlake is also Non-Executive Director of the India Capital Growth Fund and CT Automotive plc and has a direct interest in 20,000 ordinary shares in the capital of the Company. There are no additional disclosures required to be in accordance with Listing Rules 9.6.13R (1) - (6).
