On 28 March 2013 British Assets Trust plc ('the Company') purchased 1,700,000 of its own ordinary shares of 25p, to be held in treasury, at a price of 131.12p per share.

Following this purchase the Company's issued share capital consists of 291,112,282 ordinary shares of which 1,700,000 ordinary shares are held in treasury. The total number of shares with voting rights in the Company is 289,412,282.

The above figure (289,412,282) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
