ABERDEEN ASIAN INCOME FUND LIMITED

The Company announces that it has today borrowed USD12,222,700 under the
Company's £30 million committed revolving credit facility with Barclays Bank
plc.  Interest on the borrowing has been fixed at an all-in rate of 5.306% per
annum for an initial period to 18 July 2006. Approximately £13 million remains
available for drawing up to the final maturity of the credit facility on 25
November 2008.
