ABERDEEN ASIAN INCOME FUND LIMITED (the "COMPANY")

BLOCKLISTING APPLICATION

Applications have been made to the UK Listing Authority for 5,000,000 Ordinary shares of no par value ("Shares") to be admitted to the premium segment of the Official List and to the London Stock Exchange for such Ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on its Main Market under an Ordinary Share Blocklisting Facility.

Shares may be issued under the Blocklisting Facility for general business purposes subject to guidelines laid down by the Board and in accordance with the Company's Articles of Association.  Any Shares will, when issued, rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary shares of the Company.  It is expected that admission will become effective at 8.00 a.m. on Thursday, 28 February 2013.
