ABERDEEN ASIAN SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC (the "Company")

Result of Annual General Meeting

At the Annual General Meeting of the Company held today (30 November 2010), all resolutions in the Notice of Meeting were unanimously passed on a show of hands. 

In relation to Resolution 11 (disapplication of pre-emption rights), 10 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital equates to 3,113,661 Ordinary shares as at today's date.

In relation to Resolution 12 (authority to purchase shares for cancellation or treasury), 14.99 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital equates to 4,667,379 Ordinary shares as at today's date.
