Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")

Issue of Equity

The Company announces the allotment on 18 November 2005 of 200,000 Ordinary
shares of 25p each under its block listing facility.  The issued share capital
is now 29,554,100 Ordinary shares.

These shares were issued at a price of 277p per share.  The fully diluted net
asset value per share at the close of business on 17 November 2005 was 265.50p.
