Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")

Issue of Equity

The Company announces the allotment on 26 October 2005 of 150,000 Ordinary
shares of 25p each under its block listing facility.  The issued share capital
is now 29,104,100 Ordinary shares.

These shares were issued at a price of 258.5p per share.  The fully diluted net
asset value per share at the close of business on 25 October 2005 was 250.61p.
