Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")
Issue of Equity


The Company announces the allotment on 7 April 2006 of 300,000 Ordinary shares
of 25p each under its block listing facility.  The issued share capital is now
32,186,208 Ordinary shares.

These shares were issued at a price of 324p per share.  The fully diluted net
asset value per share at the close of business on 6 April 2006 was 313.67p.
