     ABERDEEN ASIAN SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC (the "Company")



                             Conversion of Warrants



The Company yesterday applied for the listing of 143,389 new Ordinary shares of
25p each ("Ordinary Shares"). The listing application has been made following
the exercise of 143,389 Warrants to subscribe for Ordinary Shares at 100p per
share ("Warrants") in the period to 30 November 2006. The Ordinary Shares will
rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares of the Company.



Following the issue there will be 32,329,597 Ordinary Shares and 5,348,903
Warrants in issue.
