Standard Life plc announces that it received notification today from Crawford Gillies, a non-executive director, that he has been appointed a non-executive director of Barclays PLC and Barclays Bank PLC, with effect from 1 May 2014.

Standard Life plc also announces that Lynne Peacock, a non-executive director and a member of the Remuneration Committee, will be appointed Chairman of the Remuneration Committee with effect from the conclusion of the AGM on 13 May 2014.  Crawford Gillies, the current Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, will stand down as a member of the Committee at the same time.

The above announcement is made in compliance with Listing Rule 9.6.14.
